To actually gain the skills covered in these sessions, you need
to work at it - there is no magic here
I've provided some tools to help you learn, and although everyone's
best learning approach differs, I would like to suggest using
these strategies
-
Download and print off the transcript(s):
every video has it's script available; with a hardcopy
in hand, you can more easily follow the lecture and
take notes
-
Read the précis for each video: just above the video is a
short summary of the upcoming topic; this is just to set the stage
-
Watch and pause: while you watch each video, feel free to
pause and / or backspace to relisten to some parts; of course,
you can watch the whole video as many times as you feel you need
-
Download and print off the technical summary: each lesson
includes a summary of terms and syntax discussed up to the end
of the lesson, covering the whole course to that point; this might
be a useful "cheat sheet" when you start to code
-
Run the labs: the lectures provide information, but the labs
are designed to give you experience with the content
